This class is designed to teach the average person how to administer emergency first aid to an animal until veterinary care can be ascertained.

  • This is an interactive class with a live instructor.
  • Participants are required to have a stuffed animal to practice on, a good internet connection, video and audio access. Instructor MUST be able to view everyone in attendance.
  • Attendance and participation in the class is required for certification.
  • Only paid participants will be allowed to view the presentation. Make sure you pay for each person that will be in attendance.
  • Everyone must have a laptop or desktop computer with monitor to be able to view the presentation. Smartphones are greatly discouraged as the screen is too small to view the presentation.
    • If multiple paid participants are at the same location they may share the same device to attend the class however the instructor must see everyone clearly in the video window on zoom.
  • Class combines lecture, Q&A session, and interactive hands-on portion with feedback from the instructor.
  • Instructors are credentialed veterinary technicians and classes offer not only RACE approved CEU but certification in animal CPR, First Aid, and emergency response. We teach the most current method of animal CPR endorsed by the veterinary industry.

Certificates are available for downloading and printing within 72 hours after the class is held in your membership account. Our program is based on the most current method of animal CPR which was developed by emergency veterinarians. The class is designed to teach the average person how to perform emergency first aid for their pet prior to ascertaining veterinary care.**

*This class will certify the participant in Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid*. 

This is a lecture style class with a hands on session focused on CPR for dogs and cats.  The skills and topics covered in this class include:

  • Safety Techniques for Handling Sick or Injured Animals: Learn essential safety techniques for working with and managing sick or injured animals to ensure both their safety and yours.
  • Emergency Triage and Assessment: Master the skills to perform emergency triage and assess whether an animal is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency.
  • Restraint and Transport: Understand how to safely restrain and transport sick or injured animals, minimizing stress and risk.
  • Emergency First Aid En-Route to Veterinary Care: Gain knowledge on providing emergency first aid to dogs and cats while en-route to professional veterinary care.
  • Taking Vital Signs: Learn how to accurately measure vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, CRT) and distinguish between normal and abnormal readings.
  • Importance and Use of a Pet First Aid Kit: Discover the critical components of a pet first aid kit and how to effectively use each item during an emergency.
  • Managing Common Medical Emergencies: Acquire skills to manage and provide first aid for common medical emergencies, including severe wounds, poisoning, burns, choking, and more.
  • Current Standards in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Learn the most current industry-standard methods for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on dogs and cats. Participants will receive a PetCPR+ Certification valid for 2 years upon completion.

First aid supplies such as pet first aid kits, respiration barrier masks, etc are available to purchase with your registration.  Visit our online store for a list of items.  Retail items are mailed directly to you at the shipping address provided in checkout.  Registrations received after the preregistration period (3 business days immediately prior to a class) or walk in registrations are subject to a $5 late fee. Although emergency first aid can improve the outcome of an animal that is experiencing a medical emergency, our company and our instructors will recommend that owners/caregivers seek veterinary care in all instances.
