How do I access my course after I purchase a registration?

You will create a username and password for the course during checkout, prior to paying. You can use this username and password to log into your account to begin the course immediately upon payment. You do not have to wait for any other steps. Occasionally the security system on our website will send a customer an E-mail verification which you will have to click on to verify your e-mail. This is done only on select emails that our system feels are questionable for the safety of the website. If you were sent an e-mail from our website, such as a payment receipt or password reset link, and you do not see it in your inbox, please check your spam folder. Please note that you can only access your on-demand course at www.petemergencyacademy.com. On-demand courses are not accessible from any other Pet Emergency Education website.

Will I receive a certificate when I finish the course? 

Yes, all registrants will receive an internationally recognized and approved certification. Upon successful completion of the course and a passing score on all assessments, an official certificate will be immediately Available for download and printing from your profile page. The certificates are also located on the course main page.

What do I receive with my registration?

Each registrant receives an eBook reference guide, an official certificate, a two-year subscription to our animal resource center and copyright access to use the PetCPR+ logo to promote that you are certified.

Do I need any specific supplies for the course?

You do not need to purchase any special items or supplies to take one of our courses , however, if the course you are participating in covers pet CPR we highly recommend that you use a stuffed animal to follow along with the video tutorials about. CPR. This will allow you to practice the steps to CPR adequately so you feel comfortable performing it in the future.

Can I print the eBook?

No. eBooks are “View Only” documents and for copyright reasons cannot be printed. A link to access the eBook for your course will be located in the introductory section at the beginning of the course.

How long do the courses take to complete?

Although the precise amount of time required to complete the courses varies based on the individual participant, all of our deluxe certification courses are designed to be 3 contact hours with the exception of our Equine First Aid for Horses and Livestock Emergency First Aid and Wellness Care courses which are 4 contact hours.

How much time do I have to complete the courses?

Courses are asynchronous, meaning there are no live components and participants can complete the course at their own pace, logging in and out as much as they like however they must complete the course within 30 days from the date of purchase or the course will expire and you will no longer have access to it.

How I get tested on the material to become certified?

Each course contains a variety of assigned readings, activities, training videos and quizzes. There is a comprehensive final exam at the end of each course. You must pass all assessments with 100%. However, you do have multiple attempts to do so.

How long is the certification valid and does it need to be renewed?

Our certification is valid for 2 years, which is the industry standard. 

What is the benefit of getting certified through Pet Emergency Academy?

Our programs provide participants with critical knowledge necessary to respond to a variety of common medical emergencies that animals may encounter. We award participants a credible, recognized, and veterinary industry-approved and endorsed certification. Our certifications provide valuable credentials which can be used for continuing education, job applications, for hospital accreditations and employment requirements as well as on resumes, college applications, volunteer opportunities and more. 

Will I earn continuing education units from Pet Emergency Academy?

Our classes are approved to provide 3.5 CEU to Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, 3 CEU to the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors, 3 CEU for Professional Animal Care Certification Counsel and 3 CEU to members of Pet Sitters International. Our Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid, Canine and Feline CPR and Advanced Life Support and Equine Emergency First Aid are also approved to award RACE continuing education credits to veterinary technicians. At this time none of our classes award RACE approved CEU to licensed veterinarians
